“iHydrostatics，太拗口，不能叫Hydraulics之类吗?” 时而听到小伙伴类似的抱怨。Hydrostatics这个词貌似在国内的确盖不住Hydraulics，即使在我们这个领域。不过i小编是这么理解的：Hydraulics包含了两层含义Hydrostatics和Hydrodynamics，液压圈中通常所说的液压传动指的是Hydrostatic Transmission【静液压传动】，Monika及Manring的书名都是Hydrostatic什么什么，而我们国内的《液压传动》教材，其内容也都归属于静液压传动范畴，所以i小编觉得叫《静液压传动》应更准确。对于Hydrodynamic Transmission通常指液力传动，二者原理上有着本质区别。至于iHydrostatics，由于只关注于静液压传动领域，所以你应该懂得拗的还是有道理的。

Hydrostatics还是Hydraulics？是一个有意思的话题，如果讨论起来有许多。不过，仅仅从词汇本身来说，咬文嚼字，我提供最标准ISO / FIDS 5598《Fluid power systems and components — Vocabulary》中确定的词汇及定义。该标准目前正处于投票阶段，还不是正式颁布文本。可参考如下：
hydrostatics：
that part of hydraulics which deals with liquids at rest and the forces exerted on them or by them .
hydraulics：
science and technology that deal with the use of a liquid as the fluid .
另外，有关词汇如下：
hydrodynamics：
study of the motion of a fluid and the interactions of the fluid with its boundaries .
hydrokinetics：
part of hydraulics which deals with the forces produced by a liquid as a consequence of its motion, independent of generating forces .
hydrostatic transmission :
any combination of one or more hydraulic pumps and hydraulic motors .
